Count Porkula BBQ was established in 2008 and founded by Kelly Lovell & Walt Todd with a vision to serve the best BBQ in Little Rock, Arkansas! What started as a hobby quickly became a passion, and now we are bringing our custom eatery to everyone. We have been perfecting the process to serve quality BBQ in Arkansas for eight years. It started with our smoker Count Porkula. This one-of-a-kind smoker was rusted, broken down, and not worthy of smoking. It was on its last leg; however, we quickly refurbished it back into working condition,
and we knew right away we had something
that would last a lifetime.
Over the next few years, we cooked for family and friends, tailgates, and realized we had started something we were passionate about and something people enjoyed being around.

Kelly Lovell was born in Farmington, New Mexico, and first moved to Arkansas to attend the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. His love for food came during a short stint in Washington, DC, after college. He worked in the corporate world for 17 years in sales, and it was the perfect training to help get Count Porkula BBQ off the ground.
Working fires in the pit and smoking meat was a longtime dream, and today you can meet him alongside his business partner Walt Todd serving customers in Central Arkansas.

Walt Todd is a Little Rock, Arkansas native and attended LR Catholic High School. He has been a part of a family-owned business for over 25 years. He graduated from UALR with a political science degree and is as LOCAL as they come. His love for food stems from grilling and smoking meats with his dad on the weekends and going out to nice dinners around the Little Rock area with his mother. His experience running a local business helped brand Count Porkula to one of the BEST BBQ joints in Arkansas.
